dear evan hansen lottery

Dear Evan Hansen seems to be the next big thing coming off Broadway and Des Moines is one of the first in line for the inaugural national tour. The show pulls in Tuesday, February 5th and runs through Sunday, February 10th. Tickets and all that can be found here.

The Washington Post calles it ”one of the most remarkable shows in musical theater history” and Pasek and Paul (the duo behind La La Land and the Greatest Showman) wrote all of the songs for it’s award-winning soundtrack. The show also won a total of six Tony’s, including one for Best Musical.

What’s this show about, you ask? Dear Evan Hansen tells the story of a high school student with severe social anxiety who….well, that’s all I’ll say. The inciting incident is clever and I think it’s better left shrouded in mystery until you’re in your seat. In the meantime, here’s a link to my favorite song. It’s safe to say that a new obsession is taking shape, which is nice timing because I’m only now getting sick of Hamilton.

All that being said, there’s a digital lottery for $25 tickets! Info below:

“The digital lottery will begin accepting entries 48 hours prior to the first performance in Des Moines and will be accepted until 9 a.m. local time the day before the performance. Fans who have been selected will be notified daily via email and can then purchase up to two (2) tickets at $25 each. The ticket lottery will continue on a rolling basis for every performance in the engagement. All entrants are encouraged to follow Dear Evan Hansen on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook for additional lottery news and information.

Entrants must be 18 years or older. A valid, non-expired photo ID that matches the name used to enter is required for pickup. Seat locations awarded by the lottery are subject to availability. Additional lottery requirements can be found here.
