A New Hotel Downtown

So have you visited Surety Hotel yet?

It’s unlike anything else in town: part hotel, part restaurant/bar, and part SoHo House. Remember the Des Moines Social Club? This place is what I wanted that place to be.

I know DMSC wasn’t meant to be an “all day” sort of place, but I’ve always been drawn to spaces where you can spend a good chunk of the day. Surety is like that: grand lobby with plenty of seating, a welcoming bar (two of them, actually!) and an ideal corner spot in the heart of downtown.

You could meet at the restaurant for lunch, snag a spot in the lobby to work, and then pull up to the bar in the evening for a quick nightcap with fellow freelancers. It’s beautiful on several levels, so go check it out.

Plan a staycation soon! We could all use a change of pace and scenery and this place would do the trick.
