You’ve heard of Brooklinen, right?

It’s the direct-to-consumer bedding that has taken the Internet by storm. It all started when the founders were in Las Vegas, where they fell in love with the quality of their hotel’s bedding. The price to purchase, though, was exorbitant and that led them down a entrepreneurial road that eventually ended in Brooklinen. Last week, I finally took the plunge into their beautiful bedding and purchased a set of my own.

After perusing the options, I settled on linen because I like the feel of it and also because I admire how visually pleasing it looks, even when jostled and unmade. The total was right around $400.00 for the linen bundle, which includes a fitted sheet, a top sheet, four pillow cases, and a duvet. I think that’s a good deal, don’t you?

On round one, I purchased a linen bundle in “caramel”, but the shade looked different in real life and I returned it for a set in “fog” and this one is the clear winner. It resembles one of those clouds you’d see off the coast of San Francisco in Outer Sunset. I know the texture of linen irritates some people, but I actually like feeling it beneath me. I think it’s because the texture lets me know the bedding is there, if that makes sense.

Before you baulk at the price tag, consider how we spend one third of our lives in bed! With that in mind: why not invest in something to make those hours more enjoyable?

It’s late here in the Midwest, so I’m signing off. Rest assured, though, I’ll fast asleep fairly quickly.
